    CREATOR and WRITER

What attracted me to Raven Writing Company? Passion.  I believe some of our most valuable treasures in life are found in pursing our passions while helping others live out their own.  I’ve been incredibly blessed to have the opportunity to do that here, as we as On The Bright Side LLC, where I am a contributing writer for another extremely passionate soul living out his own vision and truth.

As for me, I would consider myself an explorer, or an adventurer maybe.  Not like Indiana Jones (unfortunately) as I haven’t yet found the resources to embark on a quest for the Holy Grail, but I try to live my life with a sense of wonder and curiosity, and lean more into adventure than anxiety.  I love learning, and discovering, and read an absurd amount of books and watch a lot of cinema to pack as many lifetimes as I can into the one I’ve been given (research, not escapism, leave me be).

I’ve learned to love processes more than outcomes, the climb rather than summits, but also absolutely hate losing at anything and have been known to come unglued over repeat draw 4’s wielded at me in Uno.  My paradox’s make me who I am, and if they don’t destroy me they will make a great story one day.

These days I find myself living out my own passions through coaching soccer.  They say as coaches we are given an incredible gift of having the opportunity to impact more lives in a season, than most people are given in a lifetime.  In the fewest words, that’s why I coach.  To lead people well, and inspire them, challenge them, and love them, we must first go on all of those journeys ourselves.  Coaching has given me that, and although I don’t have a cool hat or run from huge boulders through caves lit by torches, I wouldn’t trade that adventure for any of Indy’s.  The treasure just looks a little different.

Why do I write for Raven Writing Company?  Helping others find and pursue their passions while equipping them with the tools to make those visions achievable, makes me come alive.  Plus, I’m too old to outrun boulders…
